The Meridian Lions Club of Meridian, Idaho will be sponsoring their 22nd Annual Rodeo on Saturday, September 24h and Sunday, September 25th, 2011. The action begins with pre-rodeo events at 1:00 p.m. followed by the rodeo at 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $9.00 for adults, $6.00 for senior citizens, and $6.00 for 6-12 year olds. Children under 6 will be admitted free. Advance tickets are available at Meridian D&B Supply.
The rodeo location is on the northeast corner of the intersection of McDermott Road and Cherry Lane.
In addition to the ever-popular Mutton-Busting; Steer Riding will be part of the pre-rodeo events. Children ages 4-7 are invited to participate in Mutton-Busting with a limit of 20 entries per day. Children ages 8-12 are invited to participate in the Steer Riding with a limit of 12 for each day. Sign up early! For more information on Muttton-Busting, please call Jody Kuhn at 888-9340. Events included in the rodeo are bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, team roping, barrel racing, break-away roping, bull riding, calf roping, and steer wrestling. Entries open September 15th at 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Mountain time, and are being taken by the Idaho Cowboys Association at (208) 366-2326.
